Witch’s Guide to Protection, Investigation, and Clarity

Witch’s Guide to Protection, Investigation, and Clarity

Grounding and Centering
Before any ritual, dream, or astral travel, breathe deeply three times. Visualize roots connecting you to the earth. Affirm inwardly: “I stand sovereign in body, mind, and spirit.” Strengthen your astral body by imagining it armored, glowing, or coiled like a protective serpent. Place talismans, sigils, or charms nearby for reinforcement.

Daily Black Flame Micro-Practice
Take 2–3 minutes to ignite the black flame within. Visualize it surrounding your body as a sphere. Add a coiled serpent or reflective obsidian layer. Say: “The Black Flame rises. I am sovereign. I am shielded. No force may touch me but those I allow.” Snap fingers or trace a protective sigil to seal the energy. Flare the flame when sensing intrusion.

Investigation of Entities
Ask in dreams or meditation to see the entity and understand its purpose. Request messages through symbols if direct answers do not come. Record all impressions immediately upon waking: objects, colors, animals, numbers, words, or emotions. Use tarot, runes, a pendulum, or a black mirror to aid interpretation. Look for recurring patterns. Symbols like glasses may mean clarity, perspective, or insight rather than literal objects.

Astral Projection and Lucid Dream Protection
Before entering the astral, visualize an inner layer of reflective obsidian or protective cocoon with an outer serpent of fire. Affirm: “I see with clear sight. No shadow deceives me.” Your astral self is armored, alert, and sovereign.

Banishment Ritual
Light a black candle for authority and a white candle for sealing. Speak clearly to the entity: “I name you as unwanted. You have no claim, no right, no place in my sphere.” Visualize weapons, black flame, or serpents striking the intruder. Declare: “By my will, you are banished from my body, dreams, and space. Return not, or be devoured.” Seal with incense, gestures, or scattering protective materials outside.

Decoding Ritual for Symbols and Messages
Record all symbols, phrases, objects, colors, or emotions in a journal. Light a black candle for focus and a white candle for clarity. Ask divination tools or inner gnosis: “What does this symbol mean for me?” “Was this entity an ally, shadow, or adversary?” Close by affirming sovereignty: “I take the message, I leave the rest. My will is law, my path is clear.” Keep a personal symbol dictionary to recognize repeated messages.

Key Points to Remember
Encounters with spirits or entities are not necessarily attacks; they can be trials, tests, or lessons. Protect your body, mind, and astral self consistently. Investigate before reacting, interpret symbols carefully, and assert authority when needed. Daily shielding, rituals, and decoding practices build mastery and sovereignty. No entity can claim authority over you unless you allow it.

Ritual of Decoding the Astral Message

(to interpret symbols, objects, and cryptic spirit communication)

What You Need

  • Journal or paper & pen
  • Black candle (focus, spirit connection)
  • White candle (illumination, clarity)
  • Divination tool (tarot, runes, pendulum, or black mirror)
  • Incense of mugwort or myrrh (optional, for vision work)

Step 1 – Recollect the Symbol

  1. Upon waking, write down everything you remember from the dream or encounter.
    • Objects, words, colors, numbers, emotions.
    • Do not dismiss anything, even if it seems trivial.
  2. Circle the main symbol (example: glasses, animal, strange weapon, phrase).

Step 2 – Focused Flame

  1. Light the black candle and say:

“I call the Black Flame to reveal hidden meaning.
No shadow deceives me — truth comes forth.”

  1. Gaze into the flame, holding the symbol in your mind’s eye.

Step 3 – The White Flame of Clarity

  1. Light the white candle and say:

“As flame brings light, so too shall clarity rise.
This symbol speaks, and I hear its truth.”

  1. Breathe slowly, letting the two flames balance your focus: black for hidden meaning, white for illumination.

Step 4 – Divination & Dialogue

  • Use your chosen tool to ask:
    • “What does this symbol mean for me?”
    • “What is this spirit/entity trying to reveal?”
    • “Is this message ally, shadow, or adversary?”
  • Record the answers without judgment.

Step 5 – Gnosis Check

Close your eyes and ask inwardly:

“Spirit who brought this, show me what you meant.”

Notice if an image, emotion, or word rises immediately. First impressions are often the truest.

Step 6 – Seal & Anchor

  • Thank the flames and snuff the candles.
  • End with:

“I take the message, I leave the rest.
My will is law, my path is clear.”

  • Write down your interpretation in your journal, even if incomplete. Over time, patterns will emerge.

Astral Black Flame Warding & Clarity Practice

(2–3 minutes before projection or lucid dreaming)

Step 1 – Breath & Center

  • Sit or lie comfortably.
  • Take 3 deep breaths, each one slower than the last.
  • With every exhale, release tension; with every inhale, draw in power.

Step 2 – Ignite the Black Flame

  • Place your hand over your chest or forehead.
  • Visualize a black flame sparking to life.
  • With each breath, see it grow until you are surrounded in a sphere of fire.

Say:

“The Black Flame rises.
I am sovereign. I am shielded.
No force shall touch me without my leave.”

Step 3 – Shape the Astral Shield

For dreamwork/projection, use a dual-layer shield:

  • Inner Layer: A cocoon of obsidian glass — reflecting deception, illusion, and attack.
  • Outer Layer: A serpent of fire coiled around the cocoon — guardian and guide.

See both layers locking into place.

Step 4 – Call for Clarity

Touch your forehead (third eye) and whisper:

“In dream and in flight,
I see with clear sight.
No shadow deceives me,
Truth alone reveals itself.”

Visualize your astral self stepping into the dream/void with glowing eyes, cutting through fog and illusion.

Step 5 – Seal

Snap your fingers or trace a protective sigil in the air above you and say:

“It is done. I walk guarded, I see clearly,
and my will shapes the astral.”

Drift into sleep or trance, carrying the shield and clarity with you.

Daily Black Flame Warding

(2–3-minute practice)

Step 1 – Center

  • Close your eyes, breathe deeply three times.
  • Feel your spine like an iron rod anchoring you to earth and sky.

Step 2 – Ignite the Black Flame

  • Place your hand over your chest (heart or solar plexus).
  • Visualize a black flame sparking to life within you.
  • With each breath, see it growing brighter, hotter, until it engulfs your entire body in a sphere of fire.

Say (aloud or inwardly):

“The Black Flame rises.
I am sovereign. I am shielded.
No force may touch me but those I allow.”

Step 3 – Shape the Shield

Choose the form that feels strongest to you:

  • Sphere of Fire → Burns anything that enters.
  • Mirror of Obsidian → Reflects all attacks back to sender.
  • Serpent Coil → A guardian serpent wrapped around you, striking intruders.

Visualize it locking into place around you.

Step 4 – Seal

Trace a pentagram, sigil, or simply snap your fingers in the air and say:

“It is done. My Will is Law.
I walk in power, guarded and free.”

Open your eyes. Carry the shield with you through the day (or into a dream).

Extra Tip: If during the day or night you feel a psychic intrusion, touch your chest, breathe once, and “flare” the black flame outward — pushing it through your shield. This reinforces the point instantly without repeating the entire process.

Ritual of the Black Flame Banishing

(to expel entities and sever their influence)

What You Need

  • 1 black candle (banishment & sovereignty)
  • 1 white candle (purification & sealing)
  • Incense (sulfur, frankincense, or dragon’s blood are strong choices)
  • A small bowl of black salt or protective herbs (wormwood, rue, mugwort)
  • A ritual blade, wand, or simply your hand (to direct energy)

Step 1 – Preparation

  1. Sprinkle black salt or herbs at the thresholds of your space (doorways, windows).
  2. Place the black candle before you, with the white candle behind it.

Step 2 – Invocation of the Black Flame

Light the black candle and say:

“Black Flame within me, rise and burn.
Consume all that clings without my leave.
I am sovereign, I am untouchable, I am free.”

Visualize the black flame erupting from your chest, surrounding your entire body in a blazing sphere.

Step 3 – Naming the Intruder

If you know the name or appearance of the entity, speak it. If not, declare:

“Spirit that drains me, tormentor unseen, parasite that lingers—
I name you now as unwanted. You have no claim, no right, no place in my sphere.”

Point your blade/hand toward the black candle, imagining the entity being drawn into its flame and incinerated.

Step 4 – The Banishment Command

With full force of will, speak:

“By the Black Flame and by my Will, I banish you.
I sever all cords, I close all doors.
You are cast out from my life, from my body, from my dreams.
Return not, or be devoured.”

Repeat three times, louder and firmer each time.

Step 5 – Sealing with Purification

Light the white candle and say:

“This space is sealed in purity.
My body is whole, my spirit is strong, my path is clear.”

Fan the incense smoke through your space, walking counter-clockwise around the room. As you do, visualize the entity being driven away into nothingness.

Step 6 – Closing

Snuff the black candle to symbolize the end of the intrusion.
Let the white candle burn for a while, sealing the cleansing.

Scatter the black salt/herbs outside your door or at a crossroads as an offering to the spirits of the land to carry the banished force away.

Banishing Mantra (to repeat when feeling its presence again):
“Black Flame rise, parasite fall.
I am sovereign, I am All.
No spirit commands me, no shadow remains—
My Will is Law, my sphere is Flame.”

Ritual of the Black Flame Guardian

(to protect and investigate astral attacks)

What You Need

  • 1 black candle (for protection + sovereignty)
  • 1 red candle (for strength + willpower)
  • A small bowl of water or a black mirror (for scrying/vision work)
  • Incense (dragon’s blood, myrrh, or mugwort works well)
  • A protective symbol or sigil (can be drawn on paper, carved into a candle, or worn as a talisman)

Step 1 – Preparation

  1. Cleanse your space with incense, walking in a circle around your bed or altar.
  2. Set the black candle to your left and the red candle to your right. Place the bowl of water or the mirror in between.

Step 2 – Invocation of Power

Light the black candle and say:

“Black Flame, rise within me. Burn away what seeks to bind or weaken me. I stand sovereign.”

Light the red candle and say:

“Red Flame, ignite my strength. No fear, no shadow, no spirit may command me. I am power.”

Step 3 – Building the Shield

  • Sit comfortably. Visualize a black flame erupting from your chest, growing into a sphere of fire surrounding you.
  • Then, see a serpent of obsidian coils wrapping around that flame, hissing and guarding.
  • Whisper three times:
“What enters burns. What strikes recoils. I am veiled and armored in will.”

Step 4 – Call for Clarity

Gaze into the bowl of water or the black mirror. Say:

“If you come, come in truth. Show me what you are, why you seek me. You may appear, but you will not harm.
I demand clarity, in symbol or in word, so that I may know you.”

Visualize your astral self stepping into the mirror or water, ready for the dreamscape.

Step 5 – Seal the Space

Raise your hands and declare:

“By the Black Flame within and the Circle around, I seal this space. No spirit may enter but those I allow.
My body is safe, my spirit is free, my will is law.”

Blow the incense smoke over yourself, then let the candles burn down safely (or snuff them if needed). Keep the sigil under your pillow or at your bedside.

Step 6 – Upon Waking

  • Immediately record all dreams, symbols, and encounters.
  • If drained, repeat the black flame shield visualization in the morning to reclaim energy.
  • Use divination tools to cross-check the meaning of what you saw.

This ritual both protects your physical/astral body and sets the intention that any entity that reaches you must reveal itself truthfully. Over time, you will notice clearer symbols and less chaotic interference.
